Lord Krishna’s birthday will be celebrated this year on Wednesday 6 September 2023 as Shri Krishna Janmashtami. During this the houses are decorated, and people celebrate the birth of their beloved Kanha like a festival.

On Janmashtami, the Yogi government plans to organize cow worship in state cowsheds. Local representatives are urged to participate and promote Indian culture, encouraging residents to join. The ceremony involves feeding cows jaggery and bananas, aiming to highlight the importance of cow service.
Livestock and Dairy Development Minister Dharampal Singh mentioned that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasizes celebrating Janmashtami with grandeur in state cow shelters. This promotes social responsibility towards cow service. Ministers, MPs, MLAs, mayors, and others are called upon to participate, as cows hold a revered place in Sanatan culture and Vedic scriptures refer to them as “Gavo Vishwasya Matarah.” The festival will be observed with devotion in cowsheds.
