Chandrayan-3 Lands On Moon, India Enters Elite Space Club

India’s Chandrayaan-3 has successfully achieved a soft landing on the moon’s south pole, marking a historic moment for the nation. With this achievement, India joins the ranks of the United States, China, and the erstwhile Soviet Union as the fourth country to accomplish a lunar soft landing.

Across the country, people celebrated this significant milestone with parties and prayers, demonstrating their excitement and national pride. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) provided a live broadcast of the landing event on its official website.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission, launched on July 14 from Sriharikota, showcased India’s dedication to lunar exploration. The Vikram lander commenced its descent toward the lunar surface at a velocity of 1.68 kilometers per second. It skillfully decelerated before initiating a powered vertical descent to softly land on the moon’s surface, contributing to India’s success in lunar exploration.
